The Role: Junior Industrial Designer
Location: Liverpool

The role is a permanent contract working within the R&D department building our next generation of products. Our projects are on a global stage so your work will be used by people around the world.

Principle Accountabilities
- CAD Modelling – Create and refine digital models for prototyping and presentation.
- 3D Printing & Prototyping – Operate and maintain rapid prototyping tools, with opportunities to guide best practices.
- Digital Sketching & Concept Development – Contribute to ideation sessions and help visualize early-stage concepts.
- Graphics Creation & Presentation Design – Support the creation of compelling visuals and presentations, occasionally leading smaller presentation efforts.
- Sketch/Foam Modelling – Build physical models to explore form and function.
- Ideas Workshops – Actively participate in workshops and occasionally co-facilitate sessions or breakout groups.
- Internal & External Meetings – Attend and contribute to meetings, with opportunities to present your work and insights.
- 3D Rendering & Animation – Produce high-quality visuals to communicate design intent.
- Consumer Testing – Support testing activities and take the lead on specific test setups or feedback analysis.
- Lead R&D Comms Activities (e.g., Podcast) – Take ownership of specific communication initiatives, such as coordinating or hosting internal podcasts.
- Lead on Specific Project Tasks (e.g., CMF Development) – Take the lead on defined project elements, such as Colour, Material, and Finish (CMF) exploration.
- Lead with Process Development – Identify and suggest improvements to workflows and help implement small-scale process enhancements.
Skills and Experience Required
- You’re a junior industrial designer with around 1 year of hands-on experience in a fast paced and creative design environment.
- You bring a passion for design, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to experiment and learn from every challenge.
- You have a well-curated portfolio that showcases your design thinking, creativity, and ability to bring ideas to life.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail and are always looking for ways to refine and improve your work.
- You’re confident using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to develop and communicate your ideas.
- Able to work collaboratively from a brief following a process.
- You have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
