About the Role:
As part of the Austrian Management team, the role needs to fully deliver the business strategies and objectives within the Austrian market, to achieve volume, sales, market share and profit objectives and to ensure alignment to the marketing strategy. The role holder will have full responsibility for the performance of our Combustible and NGP (blu and OND) products in the Tobacconists & Independent petrol / grocery via execution excellence. The successful candidate will be an inspirational people leader, driven to achieve all aspects of field force optimisation and delivery through the team – as well as leading and driving a positive performance culture. The role holder is expected to challenge conventional thinking to drive innovative suggestion on ways to deliver improved return on investment and better customer engagement. This role requires strategic co-ordination and motivation of the Salesforce and Key Accounts, and a high degree of internal and external stakeholder management. The role requires the management of human, financial and other resources to ensure they are deployed in the most effective and efficient manner and the creation and development of a best in class sales team

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Execution
- Collaborate, influence and shape thinking of other key functions to co-create commercial and trade strategies for the total Austrian market.
- Take overall accountability, driven through the team, for the execution of all initiatives to fully own the delivery of Austria volume / profit / share, and brand objectives within the market.
- Influence and activate against all trade marketing strategies.
- Overall responsibility for the total Austrian salesforce –for headcount, expense, and certain elements of execution.
Customer Management and Development
- Establish exceptional relationships with key customer contacts in order to gain high levels of trade support and loyalty whilst enhancing the understanding of the trade environment. This individual is expected to be both an excellent people leader, and an astute commercial manager.
- Build exceptional internal and external networks at a senior level to ensure superior execution of plans and early warning processes driven by insightful market knowledge.
Leadership and People Development
- Lead, develop, coach and manage a direct team of 13 sales reps and a sales support executive. Set the direction, motivation and high performance culture of the team.
- Constantly review and assess capabilities – and build a team of talented, motivated experts. Recruit internal and external talent where necessary.
- Ensure adherence, compliance and communication with all relevant legislation and competition law.
Communication
- Be a strong internal communicator at senior levels. Develop internal relationships built on trust and mutual advantage.
- Drive the delivery of external relationships to deliver commercial and CORA advantage at an entire channel level.
Who we are looking for
- 5-8 years’ experience in Sales / Trade Marketing role
- Outstanding track record of success within a field sales division operating across a number of channels and categories. Including consistent delivery of sales and profit numbers.
- Commercial and sales oriented with an intimate understanding of the total margin value chain within the total UK Tob Max and NGP market.
- Deep channel and customer understanding
- A passion for working with people and customers in partnership
- Be fully conversant with the Imperial Tobacco product portfolio.
- Understand people motivators and influencers
