The Role

We are looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join our Group Financial Control team. Reporting to the Assistant Group Financial Controller, this role is key in delivering high-quality technical accounting and reporting support across the Group, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Principle Accountabilities
- Manage the relationship with external accounting advisors and auditors on technical matters, including pensions and complex accounting judgements.
- Maintain and update the Group Finance Manual and advise the global finance community on the application of accounting policies.
- Contribute to the improvement of Group financial reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance on the accounting treatment of complex or high-value transactions, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Own and maintain the Group’s discounted cash flow models for asset impairment, and coordinate reviews of contingencies and provisions.
- Manage aspects of the external audit process, respond to audit queries, and support statutory and Group-level audits.
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong track record of post-qualification experience, preferably within a listed company environment.
- Deep Knowledge of IFRS, with strong technical expertise and awareness of upcoming regulatory changes.
- Strong Analytical & Reporting Skills, particularly around complex accounting issues and financial statement disclosures.
- Advanced Excel Skills for building and managing financial models related to asset valuation and impairment.
- Excellent Communication & Report Writing, able to explain complex technical issues clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Organisational & Project Management Ability, with a proven track record of delivering under tight deadlines and coordinating across departments.
