The Role: Insights/Research Analyst
Location: Liverpool
Job Grade: GG8
The Insights/Research Analyst will report to the Head of Sensory & Consumer Science and support the Sensory and Consumer Science (SCS) Team, including the SCS Research Manager in supporting projects through research initiation, design and execution for all Liverpool based research – this includes Sense Hub studies and research conducted with external partners.
The Sensory and Consumer Science Researcher will report to the Head of Sensory & Consumer Science (EVP), supporting projects through research initiation, design and execution for all Liverpool based research – this includes Sense Hub studies and research conducted with external partners.
This role is pivotal in applying academic and industry expertise to lead best practice research and manage end-to-end deliverables for I2L and Innovation objectives. Acting as the primary contact for category partners, the researcher collaborates closely with the team to deliver insights through Sense Hub initiatives. They oversee stakeholder engagement, guide research approaches, manage data analysis, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership. Their deep understanding of consumer behaviour—especially in product appraisal—drives innovation in Next Generation Products. And additionally, supporting team members, fostering a high-performing research environment aligned with the company’s growth ambitions.
Principal Accountabilities
- Efficient in insight and data translation to make clear recommendations that add business value.
- Effective communication to team members, research peers and senior stakeholders.
- Design and dissemination of clear reports and presentations to share insights and data.
- Working together with the Sensory and Consumer Science team and other multi-disciplinary project teams to understand research requirements and ensure the relevant and forward-thinking methods of research are applied.
- Key point of contact for EVP and other NGP research when needed.
- Excellent communication skills (consumer, peers and stakeholders, partners).
- Effective at developing networks and working collaboratively.
- A passion for the discovery of new insight and consumer views
- Designing and executing research to provide new and insightful consumer understanding across our research categories.
- Proactive and effective management of research requirements

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, always with a strong bias for action.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers
- Efficient in PowerPoint creation and story telling
- Confidence in presenting research and data to varied audiences
- Experience in applied consumer/sensory research setting.
