The Role

The Brand Manager works within the Consumer Marketing function, Cluster DACH reporting directly to the Head of Brands Premium on the How and to senior Brand Manager on the What. The role holder supports the Senior Brand Manager in defining the Market Execution Plan (MEP), co-creating consumer relevant initiatives and toolkits fulfilling market needs. The Brand Manager is responsible for executing and evaluating planned brand activation, brand and product initiatives in Germany incl. KPI management. Close cooperation with the Cluster Functions, global and regional Marketing teams. He/she contributes to delivering the brand targets as set in the yearly brand plans (MEP) and ensures to maximize consumer-led solution thinking.


Principle Accountabilities

  • Brand Equity: Co-create Brand House, Snapshot and Equity Campaigns across touchpoints with Global Marketing & Portfolio ensuring relevance for local consumer
  • Co-create consumer experience platforms across touchpoints to ensure target group relevance.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient implementation of those in German market (toolkit localisation): ensure OmniChannel approach by considering offline & online touchpoints
  • Monitor Brand Health and propose relevant actions to improve it
  • Brand Strategy & MEP: Define an insights-based brand strategy for the German market based on Global Marketing guidelines reflecting business plan targets and ensuring brand equity building
  • Develop holistic MEP incl. consumer relevant brand & product initiative pipeline
  • End-to-end ownership of assigned brand(s)
  • Brand Portfolio and Innovation: Deliver a portfolio architecture in line with target consumer needs & market trends / demand shifts
  • Develop, validate and implement new business opportunities incl. comprehensive preparation of respective business cases
  • Co-create brand initiative drumbeat relevant to DACH Cluster (i.e. GPC, BPPC, LEP) and ensure effective and efficient implementation and evaluation of brand/product initiatives
  • Develop Investment plan: Develop the bottom-up budgets to determine the cost of assigned initiatives / activations
  • Performance Evaluation: Responsible for preparing recommendation and mitigation plans based on evaluation of brand initiatives implementation, reviews and updates targets and KPIs.
  • Track brand performance in all business matrix

 


Skills and Experience Required

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration or comparable education
  • Professional business leadership experience in Brand Marketing, thereof minimum 1-3 years proven experience in an FMCG environment, ideally in Germany, tobacco experience welcome
  • Proven track record of consumer centric marketing thinking
  • Excellent analytical skills and very strong conceptual, planning and strategic skills
  • Self-confident and comfortable dealing with stakeholders from all levels
  • Curious, flexible, organised and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Results driven with initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • English fluent in spoken and written, German desirable
