The Role

Imperial Brands PLC is looking for an experienced and dynamic Legal Affairs Manager to join our Corporate Legal Affairs team.

Based in Madrid, this role offers the opportunity to manage all legal matters within the Global Travel & Rizla sectors.

You will be the go-to legal advisor, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guiding internal stakeholders through complex legal processes.

Location: Madrid - Hybrid work set-up

Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract FTC 

Global Grade 7


Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead all legal matters within the Global Travel & Rizla sectors, including commercial agreements, disputes, regulatory risk assessments, and price communications.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams (e.g., Cluster Corporate Legal Affairs, Product Project Management, Sales, Marketing, Group Legal) and external stakeholders (law firms, associations, customers).

  • Provide guidance on marketing, product registration, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

  • Advise on product and ingredient restrictions, packaging & labeling, and provide actionable recommendations for implementation.

  • Manage external legal support as needed, ensuring alignment with company objectives.


Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant experience as legal counsel or consultancy experience, preferably in highly regulated industries such as tobacco or duty-free, pharma.
  • Degree in (business) law or related fields. 
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment with a strong understanding of financial, commercial, and regulatory procedures.
  • Proficiency in English (must) and Spanish (desirable).
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
