The Role

Imperial Brands PLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our Global Travel & Rizla (GTR) team.

This crucial role will be based in Madrid and will report directly to the Head of Corporate Legal Affairs (CLA) for Global Travel & Rizla.

As Compliance Manager, you will safeguard the interests of Imperial Brands by managing and mitigating risks related to illicit trade activity, security threats, and compliance issues across the Duty-Free channel.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact by developing and implementing strategies that align with Imperial’s compliance standards and external agreements such as the EU Anti-Illicit Trade (AIT) Agreement.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external compliance issues within Global Travel & Rizla (GTR).
  • Collaborate with Group AIT, Group Security, and other key stakeholders to mitigate illicit trade and regulatory risks.
  • Implement and review compliance activities, ensuring alignment with frameworks such as the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
  • Coordinate risk mitigation strategies in partnership with customers and sales channels.
  • Advise GTR management on compliance initiatives that align with commercial priorities.
  • Develop and implement a compliance audit mechanism and provide regular compliance reporting to the Group.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant experience in compliance, regulatory analysis, or risk monitoring in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proven experience in implementing compliance solutions and tools.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in English (must) and Spanish (desirable).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
