About us


The role

We are looking for a dynamic Cluster OHSE Manager to lead and coordinate Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE) efforts across our GSC operations in Africa and the Indian Ocean. This role is pivotal in driving the implementation of our global OHSE strategy, supporting factory-based advisors, and ensuring continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.

 

Location: Brussels (Belgium), Ain Harrouda (Morocco), Abidjan or Bouaké (Ivory Coast)

Key accountabilities

  • Act as the technical and strategic OHSE advisor to the Head of Operations – Cluster Africa and collaborate with senior leaders.
  • Champion the implementation of the GSC OHSE Strategy, ensuring alignment and consistency across all sites.
  • Monitor performance, lead governance audits, and support compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Facilitate cross-site coordination, coaching, and mentoring of factory OHSE teams.
  • Lead incident investigations, compliance audits, and drive root cause analysis.
  • Provide expert input into projects, investments, and change management processes.
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports to Cluster and Regional leadership.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills & experience

Essential:

  • Recognized OHSE qualification (minimum NEBOSH IGC or equivalent).
  • Experience in manufacturing environments with a strong influence on safety culture.
  • Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 / ISO 45001.
  • Strong knowledge of international OHSE standards and legal frameworks.
  • Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, multicultural environment.

Desirable:

  • Membership in a professional OHSE development scheme.
  • Experience managing OHSE at a regional or cluster level.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and integrated management systems.
  • Practical experience in contractor management and ESG-related initiatives.
