The Role
Are you a commercial leader passionate about driving growth through strategic customer engagement and data-led decisions? Imperial Brands Australia is looking for a National Business Manager, 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to a supportive Channel Sales Manager, you’ll lead and grow our Specialist Tobacconist Channel nationwide. As the National Business Manager (Specialist), you’ll take full ownership of a portfolio of retail accounts (franchise networks and organised chains). You will be responsible for delivering against our commercial objectives across volume, net revenue, operational profit and market share by shaping joint business plans, driving store-level execution, and championing our brands. Act as the internal voice and strategic lead. Leverage data, insight, and internal collaboration to create lasting impact for both IBA and our customers.
Principle Accountabilities
- Lead customer alignment to Imperial Brands’ trading terms and agreements. Develop and own Joint Business Plans (JBP) tailored to each key customer.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and identify upside/downside risks. Leverage data to uncover commercial opportunities and influence internal decisions.
- Champion the customer internally, ensuring all departments are aligned to deliver on shared goals. Maximise the effectiveness of our field force in your accounts
- Take direct P&L accountability for your customer base, including co-investment, pricing and promotional mechanics.
Skills and Experience Required
- 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG, preferably in sales, channel, or key account management.
- Strong commercial acumen and passion for data and ability to connect the dots.
- Communicate with clarity, negotiation skills, and natural relationship-builder.
- Ability to challenge and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Deep understanding of shopper and retail dynamics.
