The Role
As a Formulation Technician, within our OND (Oral Nicotine Device) Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovative product technologies, driving our ambitious growth plans forward. Dive into exciting tasks like testing and preparing cutting-edge formulations, utilising advanced development scale equipment, and employing precise testing methods. Your curiosity, technical expertise, and collaborative spirit will be key in adding value to our innovation programme. Principle Accountabilities
- Prepare and test samples of various formulation types (e.g., slurries, liquids, granules, powders) using development scale equipment, and perform detailed physical/analytical assessments to determine their acceptability.
- Prepare prototypes for analytical, sensory, employee panel, or consumer study assessments.
- Support various categories by contributing ideas and opinions in project discussions and team meetings.
- Raise COSHH and risk assessments for new materials and processes before starting any work.
- Conduct larger pilot production studies to prepare for full-scale manufacturing.
- Develop and implement test methods to support formulation and prototype assessments.
Skills and Experience Required
- Basic qualification in chemistry/engineering (HNC or equivalent experience).
- Experience in liquids formulation, processing, filling, and characterization.
- Experience in soft solids formulation and processing (e.g., extrusion, casting).
- Strong skills in time management, report writing, and teamwork.
- Ability to break down activities into achievable tasks and provide effective solutions.
- Drive for learning and continuous improvement, with openness to new ideas and techniques.
